About PANTONE®

The Pantone brand has been inspiring creative professionals with products, services, and cutting-edge technology for more than 50 years. Pantone’s originator, Lawrence Herbert, developed a revolutionary method for recognizing, understanding, and expressing color. In 1963, the Pantone Color Guide was developed as a means of communicating color match in the graphic arts industry. Today, the Pantone Color Guide is a popular colour matching system for activities in the dyeing and printing industries. This would be impossible to imagine without it. Pantone has recently extended the notion of the color matching system to other color-critical industries, including digital technology, fashion, and the home.

The PANTONE Name is recognized as the standard language for color communication across a variety of industries, from the designer to the producer to the retailer. Pantone continues to develop colour communication and inspirational tools, including pantone.com. Additionally, we adopt new digital technologies aggressively to meet the needs of the global creative community.
